While living in Encinitas Ca I ( Derrick Butler ) saw many a young man and woman struggling to put their lives back together after leaving the wars.It was to my dis-may at how they were just left to find help and assistance on their own.Looking at this I said to myself these are still kids, most of who entered the service while still teenagers and most of their adult lives have been encompassed in THE WAR LIFE. They didnt know how to help themselves and to my disgust the US goverment had not been their to lend a hand. So with that I saw a need and decided to do something about it. For over a year I bounced the idea off many a person, and finally in February of 2009 Ken Andrews and the South Bay Music Awards came to me to assist with the development of his Awards show. In speaking I began to tell him my story and well the rest you get. I am proud to announce the alliance of The Andrews Butler Foundation. I hope you will all join us at The 5th Annual South Bay Music Awards at the World Famous Irvine Improv, @ the Irvine Spectrum and show your love and appreciation for not only your favorite Indie Music Performer but also the Guys n Gals that protect or freedom..............
